The Last Sons heed the call of a listener request and take a look at a Superman & Green Lantern team-up! This time it's Kyle Rayner as Green Lantern and the pair face off against...you guessed it....Mongul!!
A fun-filled romp very much of the 90's....you only have to look at Superman's hair for proof!
Also included are our thoughts on the recently released Batman/Superman mini which sees the classic duo face off against The Batman Who Laughs!
All that, plus the usual ramblings from two very mad men...

Kyle Rayner is the new Green Lantern and unbeknownst to him also the last. Him and his girlfriend Alex are on a beach practising. Alex, being a photographer takes photos of Kyle in the Green Lantern outfit to use for publicity. He also practices using his power ring on the beach involving making weapons, protection and much to Alex's anger Kyle using the ring to make her appear in a swimsuit, which results in Kyle getting a slap to the face.
Meanwhile at the Slab facility Mongul is enacting his plan for revenge against Green Lantern and Superman (not knowing that the Current Green Lantern Kyle is not the one he prviously fought) has started a riot to escape, with other villains like Major Force participating. After much bloodhed Mongul interrogates a guard to find out where his targets are. The guard says Green Lantern was spotted in LA, Mongul kills him, steals his jetpack and sets off to end Green Lantern.
Elsewhere homeless man who saw Kyle receive the ring of power gives a green substance he found to some strange organisation he believes is the government, and is killed for his trouble.
Back at the beach, Kyle and Alex and attacked by Mongul who after a brief struggle, has Kyle and Alex at his mercy....
(#53, Written by Rey-Zod)
With his life at the mercy of the relentless Mongul, Kyle Rayner (the new Green Lantern) is fortuitously saved from death by an intervening, and very mullet-y Superman.
With now both of them opposing the crazed Mongul, a colourful battle ensues which includes Kyle manifesting various complex objects from his ring (such as gauntlets, guns and lawnmowers!), much to the surprise of Superman. The Man of Steel is unfamiliar with this new iteration of the Green Lantern, but nevertheless he aides Kyle as Mongul retaliates again and again.
Surprisingly, the colour yellow does not seem to hinder the Green Lantern in the slightest and it’s Kyle’s unabashed confidence which finally defeats Mongul. Throwing all caution to the wind, Kyle manifests a speeding train to run into Mongul and render him unconscious.
Superman thanks Kyle and flies away with Mongul, taking him to an incarceration far, far away.
Meanwhile, a shady figure by the name of Mr. Deacon cuts deals with another mysterious figure as they discuss the matter of an unknown, green alloy - possibly extraterrestrial in nature.
The colourful foe is Major Force, and all leads point towards Kyle’s girlfriend Alex De Witt. It appears Major Force is now after the green ring...and he’ll remove any appendage necessary to get it!
